Serving those who Served
Takem LLC is proud to announce the development of a project plan aimed at addressing homelessness among veterans. This initiative involves converting smaller, non-profitable hotels around major cities into mid to long-term housing solutions specifically for homeless veterans. By repurposing these properties, Takem LLC aims to provide stable, supportive environments where veterans can rebuild their lives. This project not only offers a dignified living space but also integrates essential services and resources to help veterans transition back into society successfully.
Background:
According to a 2023 report from HUD.gov, approximately 11,472 veterans in the United States are homeless, which translates to 22 out of every 1,000 veterans. This project aims to address this critical issue by converting older hotels in urban areas into mid to long-term housing solutions specifically for single veterans. Our initiative not only focuses on veterans but can also be adapted to meet the needs of the broader homeless population. HUD’s 2023 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report (AHAR) revealed that over 650,000 people in America lack permanent shelter. By providing stable housing, we aim to protect individuals from the dangers of crime, pollution, and disease. Additionally, these converted hotels will serve as hubs for community outreach programs, fostering a supportive environment for all residents.
Objective:
Takem LLC aims to develop a comprehensive proposal that unites city government officials, current hotel owners, local outreach communities, and state and federal resources. Our goal is to collaboratively address and ultimately eliminate homelessness, restoring dignity and humanity to those in need.
Phase I: Information Gathering/Research
This phase involves gathering detailed information on the current state of homelessness among veterans and the broader population. Research will focus on identifying suitable hotels for conversion, understanding the needs of the homeless population, and exploring potential partnerships with government officials, hotel owners, and community organizations. This is the current phase of the project.
Phase II: Resource/Design
In this phase, the project will focus on designing the housing solutions and securing the necessary resources. This includes developing architectural plans for the hotel conversions, establishing safety and health protocols, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Partnerships with local outreach programs will be formalized to provide support services for residents. Technological requirements, such as internet connectivity and security systems, will also be addressed.
Phase III: Implementation
The implementation phase involves converting the selected hotels into housing units and setting up the necessary infrastructure. This includes renovating the buildings, installing essential amenities, and ensuring all safety and health measures are in place. Coordination with local authorities and community organizations will be crucial to ensure a smooth transition for residents. Outreach programs will be launched to provide ongoing support and services.
Handoff:
The final phase is the handoff, where the completed housing solutions are delivered to the residents. This includes providing ongoing support and resources to ensure the success of the housing initiative. Feedback will be gathered from residents and stakeholders to assess the impact of the project and identify areas for improvement. The goal is to create a sustainable model that can be replicated in other urban areas to address homelessness on a larger scale.
